The genre of are book is realistic fiction because it could of happen a long time ago. It’s also realistic since Caleb asks questions about his mom before she died.

The genre of the book can be historical and realistic fiction. It can be historical fiction because these stories take place in the pioneer period or in the 1700 to 1800 periods. Also, it can be realistic fiction, because it is not unusual for a boy (Caleb in this case) to ask quesitions about his passed mom and for a father to quit singing becuase of his longing. This is my opinion about the genre of the book Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia Maclachan.
